Step-up pick
Fellow Stagg EKG Pro Electric Gooseneck Kettle
Exact temperatures and a slow, steerable pour. Half the capacity of a basic kettle.
Our take
A gooseneck kettle with temperature control to the degree, a hold setting, a brew timer and a display. The narrow spout gives a thin, steady stream, which is what pour-over coffee needs. At 0.9 liters and 1200 watts it holds about half what a standard kettle does and heats a little more slowly. If your drinks need water at 80°C or a controlled pour, it solves a real problem. If they don't, you are paying for a display.
Worth knowing
- 0.9 L fills two or three mugs, not a family's worth.
- The hold setting keeps water ready for a second cup without boiling it again.
- The spout is slow on purpose, which makes it a poor choice for filling a pot.
Where it fits
This is the step-up pick in Electric kettle: when temperature matters. Our verdict there: Save
Save unless you brew pour-over coffee or delicate tea. For everything else, boiling is the only setting you need.
The other pick: Hamilton Beach 1.7-Liter Electric Kettle (40880).
